Council Highlights

  • The council continued reading through the entire Bible. Many good questions about Revelation were discussed.

  • Two new families were welcomed in membership: The Wiesmuellers and Mannings.
  • Amy Althof was released from membership as she has moved from the area and we are unable to contact her.

  • The council authorized the service of the Interior Design Plan Committee, consisting of Kate Neitzel, Kathi Appelt, Pastor and Vicar. The committee gave an initial report at the congregational meeting on October 25, focusing on stain glass windows and other design items in the sanctuary and narthex.

  • With joy, it is reported that seven people have attended the Bible 101 class. Four members and three prospective members. One is the friend of a member, one has a child in 3K and one has been in contact with our counseling ministry.

  • Ten people have indicated interest in church membership through the communication card. The announcement to fill it out will be modified to allow more time for members and guests to complete this form that has brought great blessings.

  • Ushers will be encouraged to more actively direct people to seats in the sanctuary, especially during services when the sanctuary is closer to full. God be praised for this!

  • The Prek task force was thanked for their service. The recommendations of the task force are operational and the task force was disbanded with appreciation for their work.

  • There will be a Town of Verona meeting to discuss vacating the section of Wesner Road east of the church driveway. All interested parties are invited to attend. The effect on our church should be minimal, as the town will maintain the road up to the church driveway, in-cluding snowplowing and future repairs.

  • 50 people attended the marriage enrichment seminar. The next session is planned for February.

  • Youth group is blessed with 20 possible participants from 7th through 12th grade. Thanks to youth leaders Ken Harwood and Sonya Huebner for helping to revitalize this important ministry.
