I grew up in the small town of Fort Atkinson. My dad, Bill, works for a fire prevention company based in Milwaukee. My mom, Becky, is a 4th grade teacher at St. Paul's Lutheran in Fort Atkinson. I have two brothers. Both have chosen the path of pastoral ministry. Nate will be in his second year of study and Joe will be starting MLC in the fall. Both boys are set to be on the MLC soccer team. I'm hoping to get a chance to see them play together. My family owns two yellow labs who are very spoiled. I can't seem to get enough of either dog. I keep begging Ben for a puppy. Thankfully he is a logical man and knows what is better for us! I started my teaching career in 2014. I've taught two year of kindergarten and LOVED it. Kids at any age are amazing but there's something special about 5 year olds. School is so new for them, they can't help being excited about everything! I'm so thankful God has called Ben to serve you this upcoming year. I look forward to learning from each of you and growing together in the family of Christ.

Ben Phelps (Vicar to be)...

I grew up in Plymouth, WI. My father, Tom is an aerial photographer and works out of the Sheboygan airport. My mother, Susan is a retired WELS teacher and currently works as an interpreter at the Wade House Historic Site in Greenbush, where I have also worked. I have a younger brother Frederick who is a specialist in the Army and will soon be based in California. My sister, who is very talented musically, is going to start her senior year at Plymouth Public High School this fall. My whole family and I enjoy history and traveling all over the country to spend time outdoors and seeing places of historical interest and significance. Molly and I are looking forward to our wedding on June 18 followed by our honeymoon in Door County. During the summer I will be serving as a summer vicar at Bethany in Manitowoc.
