RLC September Council Meeting

New members were officially welcomed. Vicar Ben and Molly Phelps by transfer.
AJ Hellpap by baptism. Anne Schultz by adult confirmation. We welcome these new brothers and sisters in Christ to Resurrection! Several members have transferred or moved as well.

The council agreed to set aside time at its September meeting to hear a presentation from Crossroads consulting ministry, a WELS ministry that assists congregations in prioritizing
and planning ministry. The timing appears good with the recent BAG discussion and many opportunities before us. After the initial presentation, the council will decide whether to
continue forward with utilizing this ministry. A report and update with be given to the
congregation in October.

A volunteer or volunteers will be sought to serve in the position of financial secretary. (One volunteer with experience was already mentioned.) This position would do some of the tasks currently carried on by the treasurer. As the congregation is blessed with growth, the treasurer duties have grown and the need for more help has become apparent.

Additional tables and chairs for growing Sunday School classes have been purchased. Praise God for this need.

First day of preschool will be Thursday, September 1. The 4K aide position has become vacant. One RLC member has inquired about serving in this role. The council spent time discussing a recent situation involving our relationship with the Verona Area School District. An update and recommendation will come to the October congregational meeting regarding our future relationship with the school district's 4K program.

The outreach team reported with joy that 25 children have been attending VBS. In addition, 4-7 adults each evening have attended Bible 101 classes.

The next Bible 101 class is slated to begin on Thursday, September 22 at 7.30 pm. Invita-tions are available to invite a friend.

The next congregational meeting was set for Sunday, October 23 at 10.30 am. Two major topics of discussion will be a report on utilizing Crossroads ministry, as well as a decision on our future participation in the Verona Area School District 4K program.
