COUNCIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

COUNCIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

The council continued a Bible study of 1 Timothy 2:5-7, Jesus is our one mediator.

Two babies were welcomed into membership by baptism: Aramay Boerner and Leevi Olson. We thank God for washing away their sins and declaring them his own children.

The council discussed using the term "disciples" instead of "members" due to Biblical usage. The word disciple means, "learner," or, "follower," and is used by Jesus in Matthew 28. The council will give more consideration to this.

All members (or disciples) are encouraged to check out and subscribe to "The Resurrection Channel" on youtube. We are using this media avenue to connect with our college students through a short, monthly video. We also plan to utilize the channel for other things.

December offerings were extremely generous. Thanks to God for moving the hearts of his people!

Soccer camp dates are set for July 10-14, 9 am until noon. Camp will be in the morning this year to avoid the heat of the day.  Mark the calendar and save the date. Many volunteers will be needed to continue this successful and well-received event.

The outreach team noted several blessings. Pastor has been given the opportunity to lead a twice monthly-Bible study at Noel Manor, a new senior living facility in Verona. Pastor was also approached about serving as a grief counselor at Willow Pointe, an assisted living and memory care facility.

Jesus Cares Bible study will begin on Monday, February 13 from 6-7 pm and will be held the second Monday of each month.

The early Christmas Eve service was blessed. 76 in attendance. 9 were first-time guests! We plan to continue offering this service the Thursday prior to Christmas Even in the future.
The council accepted and approved the recommendations of the Early Childhood Outreach and Education Committee. These recommendations will be presented for decision to the congregation at our January 22 congregational meeting.

The council recommended moving forward with Crossroads Consulting ministry, based on feedback received after a January 15 seminar. The congregation will make a decision regarding this recommendation as well.

Several council positions will be up for election in April. They are: inreach, held by Ned Reimer; secretary, held by Randy Huebner; property, held by John Deegan and Prek chairman, held by Mike Korth.

All councilmen consider it a privilege to serve our Savior and requested your continued prayers.
