CHURCH COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS


The church council met on Monday, November 13. Here are some highlights.

  • The council continued a study of 1 Timothy under the theme, "Leaders stay in spiritual shape."

  • Dixie Williams was welcomed into membership at our Monroe campus by profession of faith. Welcome Dixie! Don Trapp was called home to heaven. Paula Schoenike requested release from membership at Resurrection. Kathy Meyer requested release from membership. Both requests were approved with heavy heart.

  • It was reported with joy that many people are attending Bible 101 classes at both campuses. Also, promotion for Christmas services and Christmas for Kids has begun.

  • Offerings for October were about $3000 higher than budget.

  • A precall meeting has been set for December 10 in Verona. A 12.15 pm potluck will be followed by the meeting at 1 pm. A precall meeting is an opportunity to provide feed-back on what we are looking for in a new pastor. Our District President will use input from this meeting to develop a call list for a new pastor for our congregation. this precall meeting is the key opportunity for input. Please attend the meeting if possible or complete the precall meeting form that has been emailed, distributed at church and included in the December newsletter. Please provide input to committee members: Kent Woller, Phil Meinel, Dick Meske, Paul Schoenike and Casey Smith.

  • The next council meeting was set for December 19 at 5.30 pm in Verona. Comments and input are always welcome.
