 The church council held a regular meeting on August 21. Here are the highlights. - The council continued a study of 1 Timothy, with the theme, "Leaders carefully choose successors." There was discussion about best practices for choosing leaders for church council.
- Several membership changes were approved. Baptism of Maveric Niehaus and Brianna O`Neill. Transfer in of Vicar Jordan Uhlhorn. Transfer out of Vicar Tim and Carissa Priewe. And adult confirmation for Stephanie Malchine. Welcome to all new members!
- The council discussed Thanksgiving worship times. There will be a Thanksgiving service in Verona on Wednesday, November 21 at 6.30 pm and in Monroe on Wednesday, Novemeber 21 at 7 pm. Kathy Delikat has been hired as Ministry Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator. She will being full time duties on August 27.
- The outreach team reported eleven first time guests in Verona for the month of July and two in Monroe. The blessings of recent efforts in Monroe to reach those new to our communities was also shared. Four different families have attended worship as a direct result of these efforts. Many outreach events are upcoming at both locations.
- The council continued discussion of best practices for excess funds, having considered input from the July 8 congregational meeting. A draft will be shared with the congregation in early September for further input. The council will review the input and put together a recommendation for the October congregational meeting.
- The October congregational meeting was set for Sunday, October 26 at 11.45 am. Technology will be used to connect both campuses.
