COUNCIL HIGHLIGHTS
The council continued a study of 1 Timothy. The theme was: Leaders, like God, want all people to be saved. Mike Behr, along with his children, Samantha, Brianna and Carter, were welcomed into membership by transfer from Faith Lutheran in Oregon, WI. Welcome! The next new member welcome party is scheduled for Sunday, March 5 at the home of Ned and Denise Reimer. The Men of His Word conference will be held Saturday, February 11. All men are invited to attend. Speak with Pastor, Gene Cate or Ned Reimer for details. The outreach team, with our counseling ministry, will be hosting a mental health wellness fair at church on Saturday, January 14. Various services for body, mind and spirit will be offered, including child and family counseling, brain coach, pediatric massage and Bible 101. Over 160 people were visited as part of our prospect canvass with Good News on Saturday, December 10. Focus was inviting people to our Christmas services. One family came to worship the very next day. God be praised! A special seminar will be held on Sunday, January 15 from 10.30 am until 2.30 pm. Free child care and lunch will be provided. All are welcome to attend part or all of the Seminar. The Seminar is titled, Facing Today`s Realities. The seminar will help us determine the direction of future ministry at Resurrection, along with pursuing Big, Audacious Goals (BAGs). The Seminar will be led by WELS Pastor Elton Stroh, who has served for decades consulting with congregations and helping to plan future ministry. This seminar will help us determine as a congregation whether to not to continue working with Pastor Stroh and Crossroads consulting ministry. A decision will be made at the January 22 congregational meeting. The next congregational meeting will be held on Sunday, January 22 at 10.30 am. A decision regarding Crossroads consulting ministry will be made. There will also be a report from The Early Childhood Outreach Committee and likely recommendations regarding future Early Childhood Outreach opportunities.
