CONGREGATONAL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS


~The meeting began with a devotion from Ephesians 4. Keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace
.
~Pastor Strutz shared updates on progress toward congregational ten year goals (by 2028). Grow: 700 in weekly worship. Spread: 1000 members. Plant: 4 sites.

2019 ended with an average of 235 in weekly worship and 404 members (the same as at the end of 2018 and 2017).

~And two sites, with a third in Fitchburg being pursued.

~The following membership changes were approved by the congregation.
  • Transfers in: Rachel and Maverick Cate, Phyllis Monigold, Michael and Mary Bradley, Jeff and Cathy John.
  • Welcome by adult confirmation: Kevin Keith, Gina Kleiser.Welcomed into God’s family by baptism: Amelia Heyer, Mason Perez, Coral Kleiser.
  • Released at their request: Kevin Korth, Corey Pope
  • Transferred to other WELS congregations: Paul and Laura Konkol, children Owen and Addison; Brooke and David Erikson, son Logan; Isaiah Dumas.

~The council has approved conducting an Every Member Visit. There are four reasons for this Every Member Visit.

1. To share God’s Word with God’s people.
2. To share the exciting things God is doing at Resurrection.
3. To hear honest and personal feedback on our multi-site strategy.
4. To determine the level of commitment of our congregation for Fitchburg ministry.

~Visitors will be identified and trained in February, with visits taking place in March, April and May. Please welcome a visit and share your input.

~The treasurer reported with gladness that offerings through the first six months of the ministry year are 1% (about $3000) higher than budgeted and spending is slightly below budget.

~Outreach events are planned around Easter at both locations. Easter for Kids: April 4 in Verona and April 11 in Monroe.

~Canvassing dates will be planned prior to Easter for Kids. Dates set for March 21 in Verona and March 28 in Monroe.

~Inreach team is investigating ways to encourage members and prospects with young children to be more active in worship by providing a children’s church during worship.

~The technology use to connect our two sites had issues. Work is being done to either improve technology or find alternate ways to keep our campuses connected for congregational meetings, input, and communication. Thanks to all for your patience and understanding.
